When did you start windsurfing?
About 1976, Eagle Lake, Bar Harbor, ME…thanks Joe

Where do you windsurf the most?
Hudson River and Hatteras

Your best session ever:
At ABK fall clinic, hit 3rd duck jibe of my senior life with camera, Andy Brandt, and 5 others clapping. It was a 7 Missouri, the “show me state” because I knew it, the video got it, and 5 others saw it! And many more!

Tell us a bit more about yourself:
I’m a retired gymnastics physical educator/coach from U.S. Military Academy. I now teach skiing and windsurfing and love doing both activities over 90 days each. I’m a US Sailing Windsurfing Instructor Trainer and an education staff member for Professional Ski Instructor of America – East. In both sports, I give clinics and exams. My windsurfing mentors are Andy Brant, Nevin Sayre, Tinho Dornellas, Britt Viehman, Tom Lepak, Brendon Quinn, Jens Bauer, and many others.

A fan of ABK Boardsports, I have taken numerous clinics and now have taught for Andy Brandt on three occasions. I have given 6 US Sailing Level I Instructor Certification courses and numerous clinics at places like American YC, New Bedford YC, Pettipaug YC, and Shelter Island YC. In 2006, I headed up getting three new iWindsurf sensors placed on US Coast Guard navigation aids on the Hudson River. I have done a lot with the T293 OD and support all forms of windsurfing.

I believe in windsurfing basics in lighter winds on every lake, bay, and pond. Let’s get organized and grow!
