Introduction Windsurfing Course

Here’s a nice introduction course designed many years ago in cooperation with our good friends at US Sailing. While the equipment has changed since then, all of the basic principles outlined in this course still apply. Check it out!

Note: This windsurfing course is designed to present basic information about windsurfing.  This course is not designed to substitute for the WIPA certification course or on-the-water training by a WIPA instructor, but may be used as one of the tools in preparation for taking a certified course or in continuing your windsurfing education.

The Course is divided Into 13 Parts:

  1. Windsurfing Terms
  2. Parts of the Rig and Board
  3. Windsurfing Safety
  4. Knots To Know
  5. Launching and Stopping
  6. Windsurfing Positions
  7. Getting On The Board
  8. Uphauling The Sail
  9. The Basic Position
  10. The Sailing Position
  11. Turning The Board 180 deg
  12. Steering The Board
  13. Tacking and Jibing

I am interested in undertaking the windsurfing course during my spring break which starts on the 15th of March.
I have no prior experience with windsurfing or sailing.
I would like to know the following:
    How long in the course?
How much does the course cost?
Where exactly is the course taking place?
and lastly, is there anything else I ought to know?
    Thank you for your time,
    Yoni
